Palin Pig Porn Whack Job Blow Job

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: July 1, 2009

There has been some scathing words written about Sarah Palin (and on this blog too) but the author of this blog post must have terrible heartburn and flatulence to spew forth these mighty thoughts from his gut.

Kudos to Mr. Sullivan. He’s our new hero because he’s not afraid to call Palin the “Wasilla whack job” or name names about the pimping politicos and the spineless media.

Red States Buy More Porn-Utah Buys Most

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: March 12, 2009

Oh, those Mormons. They practically financed all the anti gay marriage initiatives but they love their porn. You would think a man with six wives would not need porn.

The study was done by Harvard Business School.

“Residents of 27 states that passed laws banning gay marriages boasted 11% more porn subscribers than states that don’t explicitly restrict gay marriage. “

Best of all Jay Leno cannot forget about Senator Larry Craig’s men’s room lewd conduct arrest in 2007. Senator Craig was from Idaho, another mean red state.

Breaking Up is Easy to Do – Bristol & Levi

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: March 12, 2009

I told you last year that these two problem children would not ever get married.

I am surprised that a CW TV show didn’t go get Levi for some teenage angst drama show but who knows — it still could happen but he’s not nearly as popular as he once was.  Now, it’s just for a bit part.

George W. Bush Library

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: March 11, 2009

Why is it that all the presidents get libraries?

It’s not that Bush knows how to read. I see his library lined with comic books.

Anyway it’s in the planning stages and there are some really unusual rooms planned like the Economy Room which has a toilet.

Check it out!

Republican Arrogance and Stupidity

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: January 31, 2009

You have to wonder if all the Repugs eat the same thing for breakfast and have the same bowel movements.

Like stupid little drones all the Repugs in the House voted NO on Obama’s economic relief package.

Meanwhile the U.S. is bleeding thousands of jobs a day.

Under the Repug rule of the last eight years, the economy has gone in the toilet, people (voters) have lost 40 percent of their investments, and over 47 million people (voters) don’t have health insurance.

Read the article, Same Old Song. He says it far better than I can.

Bush Doll

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: January 19, 2009

We were lamenting not finding any Bush pinatas when one enterprising person thought about a Bush doll.

Still curious, we searched “bush firecrackers” and found this article written in 2002 in the Toronto Star that has come to pass. Scary. Insightful.

Did you know that George W used to  to put firecrackers in the mouths of frogs, throw them up in the air and watch them explode?

Boys will be boys you might say but we’re screwed when those boys grow up to be president of the U.S. and lacks the empathy.

Bush Sucks: Wanted Bush Pinata

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: January 18, 2009

Does anyone know where we can buy some Bush pinatas and some Cheney pinatas?

We don’t need to fill them with candy. That would be too sweet.

We just want to tie them to branches and legally beat the hell out of Bush and Cheney. We can be blindfolded because that is how Bush and Cheney have gone through these past eight years with blinders.

Whacking Bush with your shoe was fun but beating him all over a pinata would be much more cathartic.

Bush Sucks: 8 years of hell

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: January 17, 2009

This is painful to watch but it demonstrates 8 years of hell in 8 succinct minutes.

Enough said.

I wonder how Laura Bush, the ultimate political Stepford Wife , will be able to stomach George W. now that he’s going to be around 24/7.

Sarah Palin Condoms

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: January 10, 2009

Gawd! People are so clever. My hat goes off to you.

Of course Bush is about abstinence which is just one more of his failed policies.

Anyway these are real condoms and there are some for Obama and for McCain too but his will expire any day now.

Bristol and Levi should’ve had a carton of these.

Hey, who wants to make bets that these two kids will never marry?

If Joe the  Plumber can be a war correspondent in Israel, there must be some suitable job out there for Levi.

Whack Bush with Your Shoe

Shoes. Shoes. Glorious Shoes.

You know we all secretly applauded the Iraqi journalist for throwing his shoes at Bush. He’s probably a national hero by now. I saw a message where men we’re trying to give their daughters in marriage to this courageous man.

If someone can throw a pie at Bill Gates then why not a shoe at George W?

Check out this fun site and throw a shoe at Bush.

It will be addictive!

Sarah Palin’s Thanksfulnesses

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 26, 2008

Everyone has something to be thankful for even Sarah Palin.

Before I continue, let me just say I AM SO THANKFUL THAT THE MCCAIN-PALIN TICKET SUCKED. That campaign made so many blatant mistakes, we’re thrilled that the American people are not all Joe the Plumbers.

Palin does have much to be thankful for. Count the ways.

Bush Bails Out Citi Bank-Why? Saudi Ties?

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 26, 2008

Before Bush leaves office (still counting the days and hours) he’s probably going to do a whole lot of executive damage.

What we never expected is the Citi Bank bailout.

Why Citi Bank? Why Citi Group?

Could it be that Citi bank has ties to Saudia Arabia?  Bush just loves those Saudis. Wouldn’t you just love to see the Bush family financial records? Somebody beyond those Lear Jet flying CEOs are benefiting from this deal.

Sarah Palin Speaks, Well, Sort of

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 19, 2008

Here’s a typical Sarah Palin sentence:

“Talking with complete sentences there and also too talking in a way that ordinary Americans like Joe the Plumber and Tito the Builder can’t really do there, I think needing to do that isn’t tapping into what Americans are needing also,” she said.

But for us lovers of prose and complete sentences – every time Obama speaks…it’s like a symphony of words.

Sarah Palin just won’t go away, damnit

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 18, 2008

We were hoping that after the election (“Yay Obama!”) that we wouldn’t have to post here anymore. After all, this blog was to trash McCain so he wouldn’t get elected. Turns out, his campaign and Palin trashed him much more than we could. Now he’s yesterday’s news, and Sarah Palin just won’t go away, damnit!

Whether it’s Margaret Carlson reporting on the meetings of the Republican Governors Association, and saying “everyone knows a camera is to Palin as cheese is to a mouse” or Dick Cavett calling her “The Wild Wordsmith of Wasilla”, she’s been in the news every day since McCain announced her in late August.

The fascination with Palin is like driving past a car wreck. The first impulse is to not look, then you take a peek while driving past. Then you jerk your head in horror and move on. . .

Palin, the Secret Service, and horrible death threats

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 9, 2008

I CAN’T STAND TO REPORT THIS. It makes me SICK. But I’m going to, because it deserves to be reported. Sarah Palin has been blamed by the Secret Service for provoking a spike in death threats against US President-elect Barack Obama.

“During the bitter election campaign, the Alaskan governor had questioned Obama’s patriotism and accused him of “palling around with terrorists”, citing his links with the sixties radical William Ayers.

“Palin’s demagogic tone may have unintentionally encouraged white supremacists to plan attacks on the future president of the US.

“The Secret Service warned the Obama family last month that they had seen a dramatic surge in threats against the Democratic leader, coinciding with Palin’s attacks, the Daily Telegraph newspaper has reported.

Wasilla hillbillies spending spree

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 6, 2008

An angry McCain aide characterized the Palin shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast…”

Apparently MORE than $150,000 was spent on clothes for Sarah. First Dude got some duds too, to the tune of $20,000 – $40,000!!

NEWSWEEK REPORTS……… Palin’s shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported. <snip> One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family—clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. <snip> One aide estimated that she spent “tens of thousands” more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost.

We were concerned that after Obama was elected we wouldn’t have anything to write about. With Palin and her shenanigans, looks like we’ll be busy for quite some time.

George W. Bush Is a Wrecking Ball

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 5, 2008

As we catch our collective breaths and offer a big sigh of relief — remember George W. Bush with just 28% approval still has 77 days in office.

How much more damage he could do as one of the worst presidents in the oval office is considerable.

A Progressive Mandate

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 5, 2008

“Our nation today is only now realizing the extent of the resounding victory for progressive ideals registered on election day. Progressives triumphed in all regions of the country and won overwhelming support from individuals of all different backgrounds.

“President-elect Barack Obama defeated Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) decisively, winning the most votes in history and the largest share of the popular vote of any presidential candidate in two decades. Candidates running on progressive platforms helped Democrats expand their majorities in both houses of Congress. Democrats now have the most elected members of Congress any party has held since 1995.

“Now comes the hard part. Our country faces enormous challenges, many the direct result of eight years of hapless conservative governance. The worst financial crisis since the Great Depression is only the latest blow delivered to the American people after years of stagnant wages and the worst job-creation record since Herbert Hoover. Our increasingly costly health care system leaves out more and more Americans every year.

Blue states rule!

I’m disappointed that Arizona didn’t turn blue but when you look at this map — Arizona’s neighbors — New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada turned blue plus Florida, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Iowa, Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania…

I just can’t seem to wipe this smile off my face.

For the first time in 8 years…I feel hopeful.

Delivering ourselves from evil

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 4, 2008

It rained last night in Los Angeles making this mornings air fresh and crisp. Having just three hours sleep (because I was anxious to vote), I walked to my polling place at 6:30 a.m. To my surprise, there were already hundreds of people waiting in two lines.

I spoke with neighbors. We were all voting for Obama and amazed at the big turnout. We were all proud too, knowing in our hearts we were part of history and delivering ourselves from evil.

Delivering ourselves from evil

After voting I walked home and smiled the entire way.

The Promised Land …a message from Michael Moore

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 4, 2008

Monday, November 3, 2008

Friends,

Tomorrow.

All of us.

You, me, and everyone we know.

Eight years is enough. Eight weeks was enough.

We have a chance to redeem this country, to prove we’re better than this, that which Bush has made of us.

McCain is right about one thing: Barack Obama is the most liberal senator in the United States Senate. More liberal than Ted Kennedy. When was the last time you had a chance to send the MOST liberal senator to the White House? Trust me, it won’t happen again in our lifetime.

Every vote is critical — even in hard red states like Texas and Alabama; and true blue ones like New York, California and Michigan. Tomorrow, we need to create a massive popular vote that will give Obama a stunning mandate to return this country to we, the people. Let’s write one for the history books and rocket Obama into the White House.

Expect trouble tomorrow. Stand your ground. Don’t let some clerk turn you away. Make noise. Call the media if they won’t let you vote. Let the Obama camp know. Check out his Voter Protection Center. Know where your polling place is. Be careful inside the voting booth. The ballot still reads like a Sudoku puzzle. Be prepared for long lines. That’s ok, you know how to bring the party with you! Make new friends. Plot your local revolution. The 28-year rule of Republicans (and Democrats who act like Republicans) is over. The Reagan Era dies tomorrow night. My God, I truly thought it would never end.

There are over a million of you on my list. Each of you know 5 or 10 people who may not vote. Offer to drive them to the polls. If they live across the country, call them and tell them how much it means to you that they go vote for Obama. Take your co-workers to lunch — and to vote. Be creative. Come up with ways to convince the undecided to get their decided on and go vote. Make it fun. Lead the horse to water.

60 seats in the Senate!

30-seat increase in the House!

President Obama!

It’s in your hands. The Promised Land.

Yours,
Michael Moore

Obama: 85,000 in Virginia Come to Rally

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 4, 2008

Wow! Will Virginia turned blue?

“Obama is counting on heavy turnout in Northern Virginia, which experienced tremendous growth and has voted increasingly Democratic in recent elections, to turn the state blue and boost him toward the White House. No Democrat has won the state since President Lyndon Baines Johnson in 1964.”

Obama’s Medical Records vs. McCain’s Medical Records

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 4, 2008

Obama is in excellent health.

But McCain has not released his medical records publicly. He released a 300 page document to a select few without any means to copy.

In other words, the American public is in the dark about McCain’s malignant melanoma and other age related diseases.

Sarah Palin’s Tax Return, Did Not Report All Her Income

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 4, 2008

With all the caw caw hitting the fan last month, this slipped by.

Palin earned less than the two Presidential candidates and Joe Biden but she also claimed some weird ass stuff that you don’t see on an every day tax return. Oops, and she didn’t report all her income either.

She has assets of over $1 million and had her tax return done by H&R Block.

Latest polls show Obama winning in Ohio

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 4, 2008

Latest polls show Obama winning in Ohio.

Let’s keep the momentum moving forward in the Obama direction. Gobama!

“McCain leads among white voters 48 percent to 45 percent and among evangelical Christians 59 percent to 34 percent. Obama leads with women, 57 percent to 34 percent; black voters 96 percent to 1 percent; and independents, 48 percent to 44 percent. Obama gets a favorable rating from 55 percent of Ohio voters, compared to 38 percent unfavorable. McCain’s numers are 51 and 42 respectively.

Obama was ahead by 14 points in the Quinnipiac Poll released Oct. 23, and 9 in the survey unveiled Wednesday.

Palin is a drag on the Republican ticket in Ohio. Her favorability is a negative 41 percent to 45 percent, while Biden is viewed favorably, 48 percent to 33 percent. Still, voters said McCain’s association with President Bush hurts him more than his selection of Palin.

In all three states, the economy appears to be easily trumping race.”

Naples, Florida Endorses Obama (amazing)

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 4, 2008

Naples, Florida is the playground of the uber rich, utterly wealth, almost exclusively white folks. It’s those folks who Obama says he will tax — who make over $250,000.

A few week’s ago the Naples News endorsed Obama. We find this an amazing CHANGE of events.

“In McCain and Obama we have candidates who say they are ready to make a change.

Obama, we believe, is the right candidate for true change, a clean break from the current administration. To be sure, most change has to go through Congress, but the tone is set at the White House.

Obama has the sharper vision on health care, with an accent on expanding access and lowering the cost of prescription drugs.

Obama has the stamina, as evidenced by his calm, measured responses to everything that has been thrown at him — from hatred to wild claims — in two years on the campaign trail, without demonizing questioners.”

‘royal’ Republican families and others endorse Obama

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 3, 2008

Here is a list of Republicans who have come out “FOR” Obama and/or “AGAINST” Palin and McCain.

This is not a complete list either! – but it is, I think , very impressive! When you have individuals from
these ‘royal’ Republican families endorsing Obama, it amazes me! Goldwater, Buckley, Eisenhower, Nixon

And all these Republican politicians and columnists… I am very proud of these people because
whatever happens in this election, we all must remember, we are Americans first (and party affiliation should not bitterly divide us)

Here’s the list we already had, and this site helped tremendously with additional information.

1. Colin Powell secretary of state during President Bushs first term and has a 35-year military career including service as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under two presidents, and as national security adviser to Ronald Reagan. Powell, also served two tours in Vietnam.

2. Ken Adelman – hard right security official in Reagan and Bush years – endorsed Obama because McCain and Palin have proven to be woefully inadequate for protecting America.

3. Kenneth Duberstein, who worked for President Ronald Reagan abandoned McCain. He said: “Well let’s put it this way — I think Colin Powell’s decision is in fact the Good Housekeeping seal of approval on Barack Obama,” Duberstein said. Powell was national security advisor to Reagan when Duberstein’ was the President’s chief of staff.

4 . John Ensign Republican Sen. from Nevada says Sarah Palin is not experienced enough to be president and John McCain’s presidential campaign “completely mishandledher early days on the ticket.

Its not often you get a guy with his combination of qualities, chief among which I would say is the deep sense of calm he displays, and I think thats a product of his equally deep intelligence,he said in a phone interview.

10. Arne Carlson – Former Minnesota Republican Gov. Arne Carlson endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama The former governor said Obama represented the best hope for an America facing an economic crisis.

11. Richard Riordan – from LA Times: Former L.A. mayor, Republican Richard Riordan backs Barack Obama

In 1973, he was appointed acting director of the FBI and later named deputy U.S. attorney general. In an event known as the “Saturday Night Massacre,Ruckelshaus and his boss, Elliot Richardson, famously resigned rather than obey an order from Nixon to fire the Watergate special prosecutor, Archibald Cox. In 1983, Ruckelshaus was appointed interim director of the EPA by President Reagan. At CNN, he was quoted as saying: “Senator Obamas ability to attract not only Democrats, but also Republicans and Independents, makes him uniquely qualified to build the broad coalitions needed to address our nations challenges.

13. Chuck Hagel Republican Senator was an early critic of Palin

14. Barbara Lorman – Longtime Wisconsin Republican State Senator Barbara Lorman of Fort Atkinson announced on Tuesday that she would be supporting Barack Obama Lorman said her decision was based in part because of the negative tone of the McCain-Palin campaign and, specifically, the use of dishonorableanti-Obama robocalls. She left the Senate in 1994 and, until recently, was the longest woman serving senator in Wisconsin history. She said, “While my admiration for Senator Obama has grown with his positive approach to addressing the challenges facing our nation, my disappointment with the McCain campaigned has deepened. The negative tactics are inappropriate, downright dishonorable and have no place in the State of Wisconsin.” “I‘m a lifelong Republican, but Senator Obama is the right leader for our country and will deliver the change we need,Lorman said in a statement released by the states Democratic Party. “After taking a careful look at the qualities of both McCain and Obama and who would be best for our country, I found that Senator Obamas ability to bridge the partisan divide to work toward solid solutions that will get our nation back on the right track meant he is the right choice this November.

My grandmother co-founded Planned Parenthood in Arizona in the 1930s, a cause my grandfather supportedPaka respected our civil liberties and passed on the message that that we should conduct our lives standing up for the basic freedoms we hold so dearNothing about McCain, except for maybe a uniform, compares to the same ideology of what Goldwater stood for as a politician. The McCain/Palin plan is to appear diverse and inclusive, using women and minorities to push an agenda that makes us all financially vulnerable, fearful, and less safeNothing about the Republican ticket offers the hope America needs to regain its standing in the world, that’s why were going to support Barack Obama. I think that Obama has shown his ability and integrity. After the last eight years, theres a lot of clean up do. Newspapers: Republican Papers Endorse Obama

Editor & Publisher, a journal covering the newspaper industry for over a century and tallies newspaper endorsements in national elections. They report:

Newspaper Endorsements: Obama Leads 240-114 (10/31/2008 total from ongoing tally)

In 2004, John Kerry edged George W. Bush in endorsements by 213 to 205

E&P updates this number intra-day at the link above

And a Google map with news endorsements plotted here.

Sunday, 11/2/2008 update here without a running tally. But they note at The Final Indignitythat Dick Cheneys hometown paper, the reliably Republican daily in Casper, Wyoming, the Star-Tribune, endorsed Obama this morning despite Darth Vaders recent stab at McCain. Also, the leading daily newspaper in McCainメ’ home state of Arizona endorsed Obama!

The readership of the daily newspapers backing Obama is at 21.6 million while McCains is 7.3 million. These totals DO NOT include weekly and college newspapers which are going for Obama by a current count of 83-16.

A separate tally of college newspapers endorses Obama by the count of 79 to 1 over McCain!

E&P identifies newspapers who have never endorsed a Republican presidential candidate before (such as Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune), and boat loads of papers who had endorsed George Bush in 2000 and 2004.

At least 50 newspapers that backed George W. Bush in 2004 have switched parties and now support Obama. Four newspapers which endorsed Kerry switched parties to McCain this year (11/2 update said “about half a dozen Kerry endorsers switched to McCain).

Obama’s lopsided margin, including most of the major papers that have decided so far, is in stark contrast to John Kerry barely edging George W. Bush in endorsements in 2004 by 213 to 205.

Like Powell, many of the newspapers and conservatives endorsing Obama or voicing reservations about McPalin point specifically at the gimmick of picking a vice-presidential candidate that was woefully unable to even campaign effectively, much less serve as Vice President or, god forbid, President. (See Pew Polling and the VP Debate: Palins Already Shot Herself in the Mouth)

DailyKos has a roundup of such concerns here. For a favor, Ill quote just one, from the rock ribbed Republican endorsing paper from Enrons former home base, the Houston Chronicle:

Perhaps the worst mistake McCain made in his campaign for the White House was the choice of the inexperienced and inflammatory Palin as his vice-presidential running mate. Had he selected a moderate, experienced Republican lawmaker such as Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison with a strong appeal to independents, the Chronicles choice for an endorsement would have been far more difficult.

Arizona Daily Star Endorses Obama!

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 2, 2008

Arizona newspaper endorses Obama.

We see America the way Barack Obama sees America.
Our future requires a steady, intelligent and, as former Secretary of State Colin Powell said, a “transformational” leader to guide us into a new era. Obama brings deep intellectual curiosity, equanimity and discipline.

Taking Action Feels Terrific!

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 1, 2008

OK, so I’ve been emailing all my friends like crazy – sharing all the stories going around about McCain/Palin – and I realized all I’m doing is preaching to the choir. I’ve donated some money – as much as my Bush economic policy depleted funds would allow. But living in a non-battleground state has made me feel a bit left out of the process.

This morning I responded to MoveOn.org’s request to make calls to the battleground states. At first I envisioned having to call mean old republicans, but it wasn’t that at all. I was calling people who have already volunteered to get out and work for the Obama campaign. I reminded them of their day/time, asked them to add more shifts and if necessary, changed the shift for them.

It was very cool. For less than an hour of my time, I feel I was able to make a contribution. Several people I spoke to agreed to work more shifts and/or bring friends with them. When I hung up the phone I felt that I had done my small part to ensure an Obama victory. I’ll be making some more calls later today.

So for all you MoveOn.org members out there who think:
You need a cell phone with tons of minutes
You have to talk to mean old republicans who’ll yell at you

You now have accurate information – dig out the MoveOn request from your deleted messages and get on the phone!

Duberstein Abandons McCain

Palin dragging down McCain again!

TRICK OR TREAT! In a shocking announcement, former White House chief of Staff Kenneth Duberstein said today he was abandoning his support of John McCain and instead would back Barack Obama for president.

Duberstein used to work for President Ronald Reagan! He said, “Well let’s put it this way — I think Colin Powell’s decision is in fact the Good Housekeeping seal of approval on Barack Obama,” Duberstein said.

Powell was national security advisor to Reagan when Duberstein’ was the President’s chief of staff.

Ensign says Sarah not experienced enough

Ensign: Palin not ready for presidency

Republican Sen. John Ensign from Nevada says Sarah Palin is not experienced enough to be president and John McCain’s presidential campaign “completely mishandled” her early days on the ticket.

He said that “Joe Biden is much more qualified than Sarah Palin is. I’d rather have the most qualified person at the top of the ticket, not number two.”

Eagleburger comes out against Palin

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 1, 2008

Former secretary of state and supporter of Republican presidential nominee John McCain says that
McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin, isn’t up to the task of taking over the presidency in a crisis but
could become “adequate” if not “a genius in the job.”

Lawrence Eagleburger is just one more rat jumping ship before the election and has the balls to tell the truth.

Eagleburger was secretary of state under President George H.W. Bush.

Asked Thursday on National Public Radio if he thought Palin would be ready to take over in a crisis, Eagleburger said, “Of course not.”

“I don’t think at the moment she is prepared to take over the brains of the presidency.”

“My Fellow Prisoners,” McCain Calls Americans

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 1, 2008

John McCain offered an absolute head-scratcher of a line during a campaign speech a few weeks back.

How is it that no one burst out laughing?!?!???.

“Across this country this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners,” he declared.

I suppose he was supposed to say “fellow citizens” or “fellow Americans”.   But then again, in Bush’s America, we all feel like prisoners. :(

McStrange on Good Morning America. He said whaaat?!?!???

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: November 1, 2008

BY Tuesday, it’s quite possible McCain may go into the voting booth and vote for Obama.

Just watch him on Good Morning America today when he says Sarah Palin is the new face of the GOP, saying “as vice president… or,  OR!!!”    …  “she’s united our party.”

Yes folks.   McStrange has left it up to us to fill in __ his blank.   Of course his blank all along was the Palin pick.   Bye bye Republicans.   Don’t call, don’t write.  We won’t miss you.

George F.Will, conservative op-ed columnist for The Washington Post wrote another stinging article on the McCain-Palin ticket entitled “Call Him John the Careless”

Mr. Will really dislikes Sarah Palin and thinks McCain was totally wreckless in her selection as V.P. We couldn’t agree more.

Obama: Through Hell and High Water

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: October 30, 2008

It was a rainy day in Pennsylvania. The weather was so bad that the world series was cancelled (go Philly!)

McCain and Palin cancelled their rally in the Philly suburb of Quakerstown.

But Obama stood tall and drenched while addressing a wildly enthusiastic crowd in Chester, PA.

That speaks volumes. One candidate is not afraid of getting wet and uncomfortable to keep the audience enthralled with his message while the other candidate is afraid of getting wet.

When the chips are down and they will be — the McCain camp ran for cover while the Obama camp tackled them head on and persevered.

Enough said. Vote Obama.

Eugene Jarecki on “The Straight Talk Train Wreck”

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: October 30, 2008

An interesting narrative from documentary filmmaker, Eugene Jarecki (“Why We Fight”) on McCain, Cheney and Halliburton.

snippet:

For me, witnessing the John McCain who courageously appeared in my film and the later McCain whose staff went after me for sharing his thoughts with the American public, I’ve seen firsthand how the Straight-Talk Express really works.

snip snip

So whether this means dissing David Letterman or bullying a lowly filmmaker like me, no contortion is so great that they won’t indulge it if it helps the train reach Pennsylvania Avenue. Now, I don’t really expect straight talk from politicians, but when a politician makes “straight talk” his claim to fame, he actually gets my hopes up. In McCain’s case, I learned the hard way that the Straight Talk Express is actually just political stagecraft of the most cynical and cutthroat kind.

snip snip

Eugene Jarecki’s 2006 film “Why We Fight” won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival as well as a Peabody Award. This posting is an excerpt from his new book, The American Way of War: Guided Missiles, Misguided Men, and a Republic in Peril. It has just been released by Simon & Schuster/Free Press.

Worth repeating: McCain’s Health Plan SUCKS!!!!!!

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: October 30, 2008

On Sept. 16th we published

McCain’s Health Plan: Don’t Get Sick

We stand by our words and want to list what some other well-informed people have to say:

Elaine Rose/Mo West, Seattle Post-Intelligencer: The McCain health care proposal, which would “deregulate the health insurance industry,” is “worse for women” than the Obama plan, Rose, CEO of Planned Parenthood VOTES Washington, and West, chair of the group, write in a Post-Intelligencer opinion piece. Under the McCain proposal, “30 million women who suffer from a pre-existing condition could lose their coverage,” and the plan would eliminate “important state insurance requirements aimed at protecting women’s access to basic health needs,” the authors write. They write, “After the recent financial catastrophe, we’ve all seen just how disastrous an unregulated and excessively greedy banking system has been for our country,” adding, “We can’t let the same thing happen to health care — it’s just too important” (Rose/West, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 10/29).

—————————————————-

Al Franken, St. Paul Pioneer Press: “I like Obama’s approach, and I would proudly support it,” but “I’ll be blunt: I think McCain’s health care proposal would be a disaster for Minnesota families,” Franken, a U.S. Senate candidate from Minnesota, writes in a Pioneer Press opinion piece. According to Franken, the Obama proposal would ensure that, “if you have health insurance that works for you … you get to keep it,” reduce costs “by as much as $200 billion a year” and “guarantee that insurance companies cover pre-existing conditions and preventive health measures.” Meanwhile, under the McCain proposal, “as many as 580,000 Minnesotans could outright lose their employer-sponsored health care, and we’d all be at the mercy of the insurance companies,” Franken writes (Franken, St. Paul Pioneer Press, 10/29).

Dan Cooper, NRA member, Republican, voting for OBAMA

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: October 30, 2008

Dan Cooper, a proud member of the National Rifle Association, has backed Republicans for most of his life. He’s the chief executive of Cooper Arms, a small Montana company that makes hunting rifles.

Cooper said he voted for George W. Bush in 2000, having voted in past elections for every Republican presidential nominee back to Richard Nixon. In October 1992, he presented a specially made rifle to the first President. Bush during a Billings campaign event.

This year, Cooper has given $3,300 to the campaign of Democrat Barack Obama. That’s on top of the $1,000 check he wrote to Obama’s U.S. Senate campaign in 2004, after he was dazzled by Obama’s speech at that year’s Democratic National Convention.

Palin’s Pork Paid $21,000 for Kids Airfare

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: October 29, 2008

We’re still waiting for Palin’s IRS documents. All the candidates have done show and tell but Palin.

Now we find out that Palin used $21,000 of the state of Alaska’s money to fly her kids to events where they were not wanted and didn’t need to be.

If that isn’t unethical, I don’t know what is.

If that’s not pork, I don’t know what is.

Just think how many rape kits $21,000 could buy?

Is Arizona (McCain’s State) Turning Blue?

Posted by: Disgusted with Republicans on: October 29, 2008

Largely ignored as not one of the battle states between the reds and the blues, Arizonans have been not so quietly rallying around Obama-Biden.

IT WOULD BE SO DAMN COOL IF ARIZONA  VOTED BLUE!

In the meantime read what the pollsters are saying. Right now McCain has a 3 percent lead over Obama in Arizona!  At the end of September, McCain had a 21 percent lead. Geez, where did all his momentum go?

Now it’s a 2 percent lead…with a 3 percent margin of error.

Maybe Alaska will vote blue too!
