McCain Sucks, Palin Sucks = No Bush left behind

If McCain is a Maverick, Palin is an Edsel

Posted on: September 20, 2008

Edsel was made by the Ford Motor Company from 1958 to 1959. It was a spectacular flop despite Ford’s investment of $400,000,000 in its development. Marketing experts hold the Edsel up as a supreme example of corporate America’s failure to understand the nature of the American consumer.

For its final year, Ford promoted the Edsel Ranger as “new, nifty, and thrifty” before pulling the plug in November 1959. It was called “The wrong car at the wrong time.”

Several consumer studies showed that people associated the name “Edsel” with “weasel” and “dead cell” (dead battery).

Much like Palin’s handling for the first couple of weeks, Edsel teaser ads revealed glimpses of the car through a highly blurred lens or wrapped in paper or under tarps. Edsels were shipped to the dealerships undercover and remained wrapped on the dealer lots. Regardless of Ford’s mysterious marketing, Ford Edsels were stinkers that no one wanted to buy.

Palin is an Edsel. She is the supreme example of the Republican Party’s failure on how to solve America’s problems, and their failure to connect with the middle-class American voter.

PALIN: The wrong VP choice for the wrong time.

I really think Palin needs to go back to the Alaskan wilderness forget the big time! If she thinks it is rough now wait until she tries Washington.
