Gingrich: this puts an end to the experience argument

Posted on: October 19, 2008

In an impressive round-table discussion of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” former presidential adviser David Gergen with Republicans Newt Gingrich, George Will, and Democrats Donna Brazile, and Tom Friedman, the Colin Powell endorsement of Obama took center stage. Gingrich said this puts an end to McCain’s experience argument.

David Gergen said the Powell announcement is “the most important endorsement of the campaign so far.”

Tom Friedman a columnist for The New York Times says the Gen. Powell endorsement is a real affirmation American can trust Barack Obama as commander in chief.

Higher forces are at work here folks and we’re watching history.

No matter how much #%@* McCain throws at his opponent, Obama supporters and endorsements just keep getting better, and it’s from across the aisle too. The dark days of Lee Atwater politics are dying before our eyes. Say hallelulah!

Actually, I disagree with that. We finally have a smart, tough, savvy candidate who knows how to organize.

I can’t stress this enough: what we are seeing is the result of careful planning an excellent execution.

I did some work for the Kerry campaign and some for this one, and the difference in organization is night and day.

I agree with Disgusted with Republicans AND blueollie. I think there are higher forces at work, and I also think that obama has ran the best campaign in modern times. I don’t think these are mutually exclusive ideas.
