Oh, those Mormons. They practically financed all the anti gay marriage initiatives but they love their porn. You would think a man with six wives would not need porn.

The study was done by Harvard Business School.

“Residents of 27 states that passed laws banning gay marriages boasted 11% more porn subscribers than states that don’t explicitly restrict gay marriage. ”

Best of all Jay Leno cannot forget about Senator Larry Craig’s men’s room lewd conduct arrest in 2007. Senator Craig was from Idaho, another mean red state.

Obama is in excellent health.

But McCain has not released his medical records publicly. He released a 300 page document to a select few without any means to copy.

In other words, the American public is in the dark about McCain’s malignant melanoma and other age related diseases.

Here is a list of Republicans who have come out “FOR” Obama and/or “AGAINST” Palin and McCain.

This is not a complete list either! – but it is, I think , very impressive! When you have individuals from
these ‘royal’ Republican families endorsing Obama, it amazes me! Goldwater, Buckley, Eisenhower, Nixon

And all these Republican politicians and columnists… I am very proud of these people because
whatever happens in this election, we all must remember, we are Americans first (and party affiliation should not bitterly divide us)

Here’s the list we already had, and this site helped tremendously with additional information.

1. Colin Powell secretary of state during President Bushs first term and has a 35-year military career including service as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under two presidents, and as national security adviser to Ronald Reagan. Powell, also served two tours in Vietnam.

Its not often you get a guy with his combination of qualities, chief among which I would say is the deep sense of calm he displays, and I think thats a product of his equally deep intelligence,he said in a phone interview.

10. Arne Carlson – Former Minnesota Republican Gov. Arne Carlson endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama The former governor said Obama represented the best hope for an America facing an economic crisis.

Ruckelshaus was appointed as the first chief of the Environmental Protection Agency in 1970 by President Nixon. In 1973, he was appointed acting director of the FBI and later named deputy U.S. attorney general. In an event known as the “Saturday Night Massacre,Ruckelshaus and his boss, Elliot Richardson, famously resigned rather than obey an order from Nixon to fire the Watergate special prosecutor, Archibald Cox. In 1983, Ruckelshaus was appointed interim director of the EPA by President Reagan. At CNN, he was quoted as saying: “Senator Obamas ability to attract not only Democrats, but also Republicans and Independents, makes him uniquely qualified to build the broad coalitions needed to address our nations challenges.

13. Chuck Hagel Republican Senator was an early critic of Palin

14. Barbara Lorman – Longtime Wisconsin Republican State Senator Barbara Lorman of Fort Atkinson announced on Tuesday that she would be supporting Barack Obama Lorman said her decision was based in part because of the negative tone of the McCain-Palin campaign and, specifically, the use of dishonorableanti-Obama robocalls. She left the Senate in 1994 and, until recently, was the longest woman serving senator in Wisconsin history. She said, “While my admiration for Senator Obama has grown with his positive approach to addressing the challenges facing our nation, my disappointment with the McCain campaigned has deepened. The negative tactics are inappropriate, downright dishonorable and have no place in the State of Wisconsin.” “I‘m a lifelong Republican, but Senator Obama is the right leader for our country and will deliver the change we need,Lorman said in a statement released by the states Democratic Party. “After taking a careful look at the qualities of both McCain and Obama and who would be best for our country, I found that Senator Obamas ability to bridge the partisan divide to work toward solid solutions that will get our nation back on the right track meant he is the right choice this November.

15. Lilibet Hagel, the wife of GOP Sen. Chuck Hagel, endorsed Obama

In the 2000 presidential race, she donated $1,000 to Senator John McCains unsuccessful run.

24. Matthew Dowd, a former Bush strategist (says Palin is not ready and she puts country at risk)

25. CC Goldwater, granddaughter of conservative icon Barry Goldwater: Myself, along with my siblings and a few cousins, will not be supporting the Republican presidential candidates this yearMy grandfather (Paka) would never suggest denying a womans right to choose. My grandmother co-founded Planned Parenthood in Arizona in the 1930s, a cause my grandfather supportedPaka respected our civil liberties and passed on the message that that we should conduct our lives standing up for the basic freedoms we hold so dearNothing about McCain, except for maybe a uniform, compares to the same ideology of what Goldwater stood for as a politician. The McCain/Palin plan is to appear diverse and inclusive, using women and minorities to push an agenda that makes us all financially vulnerable, fearful, and less safeNothing about the Republican ticket offers the hope America needs to regain its standing in the world, that’s why were going to support Barack Obama. I think that Obama has shown his ability and integrity. After the last eight years, theres a lot of clean up do. Roll up your sleeves, Senators Obama and Biden, and we Goldwaters will roll ours up with you.

Newspapers: Republican Papers Endorse Obama

Editor & Publisher, a journal covering the newspaper industry for over a century and tallies newspaper endorsements in national elections. They report:

Newspaper Endorsements: Obama Leads 240-114 (10/31/2008 total from ongoing tally)

In 2004, John Kerry edged George W. Bush in endorsements by 213 to 205

E&P updates this number intra-day at the link above

And a Google map with news endorsements plotted here.

Sunday, 11/2/2008 update here without a running tally. But they note at The Final Indignitythat Dick Cheneys hometown paper, the reliably Republican daily in Casper, Wyoming, the Star-Tribune, endorsed Obama this morning despite Darth Vaders recent stab at McCain. Also, the leading daily newspaper in McCainメ’ home state of Arizona endorsed Obama!

The readership of the daily newspapers backing Obama is at 21.6 million while McCains is 7.3 million. These totals DO NOT include weekly and college newspapers which are going for Obama by a current count of 83-16.

A separate tally of college newspapers endorses Obama by the count of 79 to 1 over McCain!

E&P identifies newspapers who have never endorsed a Republican presidential candidate before (such as Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune), and boat loads of papers who had endorsed George Bush in 2000 and 2004.

At least 50 newspapers that backed George W. Bush in 2004 have switched parties and now support Obama. Four newspapers which endorsed Kerry switched parties to McCain this year (11/2 update said “about half a dozen Kerry endorsers switched to McCain).

Obama’s lopsided margin, including most of the major papers that have decided so far, is in stark contrast to John Kerry barely edging George W. Bush in endorsements in 2004 by 213 to 205.

Like Powell, many of the newspapers and conservatives endorsing Obama or voicing reservations about McPalin point specifically at the gimmick of picking a vice-presidential candidate that was woefully unable to even campaign effectively, much less serve as Vice President or, god forbid, President. (See Pew Polling and the VP Debate: Palins Already Shot Herself in the Mouth)

DailyKos has a roundup of such concerns here. For a favor, Ill quote just one, from the rock ribbed Republican endorsing paper from Enrons former home base, the Houston Chronicle:

Perhaps the worst mistake McCain made in his campaign for the White House was the choice of the inexperienced and inflammatory Palin as his vice-presidential running mate. Had he selected a moderate, experienced Republican lawmaker such as Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison with a strong appeal to independents, the Chronicles choice for an endorsement would have been far more difficult.

An interesting narrative from documentary filmmaker, Eugene Jarecki (“Why We Fight”) on McCain, Cheney and Halliburton.

snippet:

For me, witnessing the John McCain who courageously appeared in my film and the later McCain whose staff went after me for sharing his thoughts with the American public, I’ve seen firsthand how the Straight-Talk Express really works.

snip snip

So whether this means dissing David Letterman or bullying a lowly filmmaker like me, no contortion is so great that they won’t indulge it if it helps the train reach Pennsylvania Avenue. Now, I don’t really expect straight talk from politicians, but when a politician makes “straight talk” his claim to fame, he actually gets my hopes up. In McCain’s case, I learned the hard way that the Straight Talk Express is actually just political stagecraft of the most cynical and cutthroat kind.

Eugene Jarecki’s 2006 film “Why We Fight” won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival as well as a Peabody Award. This posting is an excerpt from his new book, The American Way of War: Guided Missiles, Misguided Men, and a Republic in Peril. It has just been released by Simon & Schuster/Free Press.

It’s interesting that neither candidate has spent much time talking about the working poor.

It’s either the middle class or the rich people who make more than $250,000 a year.

Well, there are plenty of working poor who provide vital services such as waitstaff, kitchen workers, some hospital workers and aids, teachers aids, gas station attendees, box boys, sub contractor helpers, day to day workers, retail clerks including Wal-Mart, hotel maids, and laundry workers. There are lots of people who try to make ends meet with minimum wage jobs. The working poor are one step away from being homeless. They live from check to check.

The working poor contibutes to society but doesn’t have any kind of financial cushio to fall back on.

Which candidate is going to address their needs?

Not McCain who thinks the economy is just fine. McCain has voted 19 times NOT to raise the minimum wage which is primarily paid to women. McCain has voted again and again against raising the minimum wage.

John McCain’s Rage is a National Security Concern – He’s an angry man.

I can barely stop laughing. What a joke! (not really)

McCain whose record shows that he has voted with Bush 90 percent of the time now has to point the finger.

Maybe he didn’t reach across the aisle hard enough.

The problem with McCain (at least one problem) is that he doesn’t admit mistakes and doesn’t take responsibility.

He’s a Republican and always has been. He was for deregulation. His top aids lobbied for deregulation. He’s married to a beer heiress and has no clue about the economy. People’s everyday struggles are so far out of his realm.

What else is scary is that he won’t vet rumors and war and he won’t take responsibility either.

If his voting record was 50 or 60 percent than I say he could possibly blame Bush but with a 90 percent voting record for Bush economics — he’s as much to blame as everyone else.

For a gamblin’ man like McCain, the dice thrill him as the odds are against him. Having McCain as president could be a big crap shoot. And having Sarah Palin as his running mate certainly ups the ante for making the odds against him.

Obama plays poker which can require some strategy.

Right now if endorsements mean anything (and I hope they do) Obama has 3 to 1 endorsement or odds against McCain.

The Anchorage Daily News endorsed Obama!

Read the endorsement list from Editors & Publishers Weekly, it’s not inclusive as no alternative weeklies are listed.  The daily Naples Daily News in Florida endorsed Obama. What a shocker as super rich white people live in  pristine Naples.

It’s been so interesting to see how McCain and his VP Sarah Palin have beat a dead horse into the ground over Obama’s (lack of) association with William Ayers.

However, what has been completely (almost) dusted under the rug is McCain’s association with the Iran Contra affair.

Not even much has been said about McCain being one of the Keating 5.

John McCain would be hysterical if the sick bastard wasn’t running for President. Almost everywhere you turn, there are YouTube videos and articles about how he voted with Bush 90 percent of the time.

Yet today he rants against the Bush administration and how he’s going to change Washington.

What the hell was he doing these past years? Did he have his old head up his ass? No wonder so many respected Republicans are bailing to Obama…

Read the conservative Washington Times, which by the way just endorsed McCain.

Interesting video. The politics of POWs.

Here’s an excellent article about relationships and how body language and thoughts reveal that the McCain marriage is strained.

McCain says over and over that he didn’t know Cindy was a former drug addict…while married to him. That means he is unaware or uncaring or that he didn’t spend a lot of time at home. Living with a drug addict is an in-your-face experience.

You can read more about Cindy’s drug addict days in this article that says she took drugs because of an unhappy marriage (to John McCain).

Dont let them steal your vote!

Don't let them steal your vote!

The GOP is planning to steal votes, such as from military men serving in Iraq. They could steal yours too! Watch this video and to help prevent voter fraud go to StealBackYourVote.com

In an impressive round-table discussion of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” former presidential adviser David Gergen with Republicans Newt Gingrich, George Will, and Democrats Donna Brazile, and Tom Friedman, the Colin Powell endorsement of Obama took center stage. Gingrich said this puts an end to McCain’s experience argument.

David Gergen said the Powell announcement is “the most important endorsement of the campaign so far.”

Tom Friedman a columnist for The New York Times says the Gen. Powell endorsement is a real affirmation American can trust Barack Obama as commander in chief.

Higher forces are at work here folks and we’re watching history.

No matter how much #%@* McCain throws at his opponent, Obama supporters and endorsements just keep getting better, and it’s from across the aisle too. The dark days of Lee Atwater politics are dying before our eyes. Say hallelulah!

Why would anyone vote for John McNasty? This robocall is the nastiest one yet : It claims Barack Obama denied newborn babies needed medical care by opposing a measure to force doctors to preserve their lives when they survive botched abortions. The call says Obama is “extreme”.

I’ll tell you what’s extreme, it’s the McPain’s The closer we get to Nov. 4, the more desperate and rotten John and Sarah become. Just imagine these snarky mavericks  in the White House, doing whatever they damn please.  Not only would they follow Bush policy,  I think they’d be worse than Bush!

Steven Benen of The Washington Monthly wrote:

“THE LAST REFUGE OF A SCOUNDREL…. <snip> …. But McCain, Palin, and the Republican Smear Machine save some of their most offensive work for automated robocalls, which fly just below the radar screen. It’s obviously abject cowardice, but decency and honor are the last things McCain is worried about now….”

“. . .McCain and the RNC are investing heavily in these disgusting calls, hoping to avoid the kind of scrutiny that comes with television ads.”

“Honestly, what would the Republican Party be without hate, fear, and ignorance? And when will party members with honor stand up and say that McCain and the RNC don’t speak for them?”

There’s now a robocall going out that says this:
“Hello. I’m calling for John McCain and the RNC because you need to
know that Barack Obama has worked closely with domestic terrorist
Bill Ayres, whose organization bombed the U.S. capitol, the Pentagon,
a judge’s home and killed Americans. And Democrats will enact an
extreme leftist agenda if they take control of Washington. Barack
Obama and his Democratic allies lack the judgment to lead our
country. This call was paid for by McCain-Palin 2008 and the
Republican National Committee at 202-863-8500.”

McCain campaign robo calls criticize Obama

BYLINE: By BRENDAN RILEY, Associated Press Writer

SECTION: POLITICAL NEWS

LENGTH: 471 words

DATELINE: CARSON CITY Nev.

Automated telephone calls from Republican John McCain’s presidential campaign continue the effort to link Democratic nominee Barack Obama with one-time Weather Underground leader William Ayers.

The robo calls that began in Nevada, Wisconsin and other targeted states on Thursday, the day after the third and final presidential debate, say Obama “has worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, whose organization bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, a judge’s home and killed Americans.”

Obama has condemned Ayers’ radical activities, carried out as Obama has said when he was 8. There’s no evidence they were ever close friends or that Ayers advised Obama on policy. Obama has said Ayers has not been involved with the campaign.

During the debate Wednesday, McCain demanded to know the full extent of Obama’s relationship with Ayers.

Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle condemned the calls on Friday.

“We are seeing now in Wisconsin the sort of dying gasps of the McCain campaign,” Doyle said. “It has really run out of steam on the issues that matter to people.”

Doyle called the assertions made in the calls outrageous and false and a distraction from issues that people really care about like the economy.

“It’s pretty obvious now that he doesn’t have any ideas about the economy,” Doyle said of McCain. “He knows he’s out of ideas and out of time.”

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said the robo calls were warranted because the relationship “raises serious questions about Barack Obama’s judgment and also his candor with the American people about his record.”

But McCain also trails Obama in polls nationally and in several contested states less than three weeks before the election.

Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said the campaign has received calls from people across the country “upset about these negative, despicable ads.”

“Sen. McCain calls Ayers an old, washed-up terrorist. If that’s the case, why is he spending all this money on these nasty, dirty robo calls,” he said.

In 1969, Ayers co-founded the Weather Underground, an anti-Vietnam war group that claimed responsibility for bombing several government buildings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol, though not a judge’s home.

Ayers remained a fugitive for years but surrendered in 1980. Charges against him later were dropped because of prosecutorial misconduct. Eventually, he became a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and lives in Obama’s neighborhood in Chicago.

In 1995, Ayers meet-the-candidate session at his home for Obama as he prepared to run for the Illinois Senate. The two also served on the boards of two nonprofit charitable organizations in Chicago. The city named Ayers its “Citizen of the Year” in 1997 for work on one of those boards.

Watch McCain’s appearance on Dave Letterman.

Kudos to Dave for asking the hard questions, that only a comedian can get away with. 🙂

I signed up to receive McCain emails and all of them have gone directly into my spam bin. What does that say?

On the other hand, all the Obama emails are delivered to my desktop. Enough said.

In this latest email from John McCain, it says:

“We know that John McCain is prepared to bring bold solutions to solve our nation’s challenges. He’ll fight for the “Joe the Plumbers,” “Joe the Florists” and “Joe the Carpenters” of America to reduce taxes and allow more men and women to realize the American Dream.”

What struck me odd about that line is — it’s Joe this and Joe that. I’m a Jane and I want equal time for equal pay and for equal work.

McCain has an archaic view of women. It could because in his generation, women were not leaders and architects and CEOs. No, women were wife and mothers and some had the misfortune of having to work.

Yes, he chose a female running mate but he doesn’t expect her to do much but smile and wink at the camera and walk around in a skirt showing off her gams. Yeah, that generation called legs, gams.

McCain wants to over turn Roe v. Wade because he believes it’s wrong to terminate a life. I believe it’s wrong for a man or a any politican to tell a woman what’s right and what’s wrong about her reproductive freedoms. She should have a choice what she wants to do.

McCain wants to protect marriage between one man and one woman. That is funny. He was still married to his previous wife Carol, a former model who became terribly sick, when he got his marriage license to Cindy. John and Cindy met and dated and probably cohabitated while they were still married to other people. So much for family values.

Aside from telling rape jokes and wanting Cindy to enter a topless contest at a motorcycle rally, McCain has a history of being anti woman:

–He has consistently voted against measures to provide access to contraception and sex-education, and voted to approve anti-choice judges.

–The other recent piece of legislation that speaks to McCain’s priorities, was the defeated Senate measure designed to ensure equal pay in the workplace. McCain skipped the vote, but let it be known he wouldn’t have given his support even if he had been in D.C. (Please note that Republicans KILLED the bill).

McCain voted 19 times against raising the minimum wage. My friends…this doesn’t sound like McCain is a friend to the people and to women who have the majority of minimum wage jobs.

Vote Obama Biden 2008.

Finding Number One

For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) provides

The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.

Download the Branchflower report here

Rather than about the pressing issues facing our country: the woeful economy, rising unemployment, the housing crisis, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — the McCain Palin ticket has distracted the American people with the politics of hate and fear.
Instead of discussing the real issues plaguing Americans, McCain and Palin have turned to fear-mongering and race-baiting, stoking the prejudices of their supporters.

Situation critical: Watch the video.

It is one of the most memorable presidential elections in decades.

It is a race that pits the iconoclast John McCain against the newcomer Barack Obama; the heroic former prisoner of war against the first African American major party nominee.

For two hours, the 20th anniversary broadcast of The Choice examines the rich personal and political biographies of these men and goes behind the headlines to discover how they arrived at this moment and what their very different candidacies say about America.

Jay Leno, on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,’ Oct. 8

“Boy, that was dull, wasn’t it? Oh, my God. I guess this time they went with the town hall format. They use that because they say it demonstrates the next president’s ability to think and talk at the same time, or as President Bush calls that, ‘showing off.’”

====================================================================

Stephen Colbert, on ‘The Colbert Report,’ Oct. 6

“Nation, what a debate last Thursday! Both candidates surpassed expectations. Sarah Palin proved she could speak, and Joe Biden proved he could stop speaking.”

Bill Maher, on ‘Real Time with Bill Maher,’ Oct. 3

“The big headline today is that [Palin] exceeded expectations, which is like saying Andy Dick only drank half a bottle of Woolite.”

Conan O’Brien, on ‘Late Night with Conan O’Brien,’ Oct. 8

“ Larry Flynt announced he’s making a porn movie with a Sarah Palin look-alike. John McCain called the idea offensive. Barack Obama called it inappropriate. Bill Clinton said he’ll reserve judgment until he sees the film.”

Craig Ferguson, on ‘Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,’ Oct. 9

“At a concert last week [ Madonna] said she was going to kick Sarah Palin’s ass. I’m thinking I’d quite like to see that. That’s going to be a sexy little underpants pillow fight. Like Madonna tries to poke out the eyes with her pointy cone bra and Palin’s well-protected with the naughty librarian glasses. Get out of my dreams and into my shiny-floored studio. But Madonna and Sarah Palin are very different, of course. One is a dangerously insane celebrity who has no business discussing politics and the other one is Madonna, so right there…”

Michelle Obama and Jon Stewart, on ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,’ Oct. 8

Michelle Obama (asked about reading negative press): “You know I’ve stopped reading and watching a lot of stuff –”

Amy Poehler, on Thursday night’s ‘SNL’ special, Oct. 9

“The second presidential debate was held Tuesday night, and the town hall format featured an audience comprised of a diverse cross-section of eighty undecided bald dudes.”

Now that the bipartisan legislative committee investigating Gov. Sarah Palin found she UNLAWFULLY ABUSED her authority  by firing Alaska’s state’s public safety commissioner,  shouldn’t the Alaska legislature move to impeach her?

Wouldn’t that be somethin?  Yoo betcha!

With McCain, every day is something new. Imagine this kind of erratic behavior if he became President. With just 25 days left in the campaign, the desperate Republicans are now trying to tie Senator Obama to voter fraud.

Imagine that. Is there anything these a*#holes won’t stoop to?!?!??

One person (on above linked page) commented:

Frankly, I’m sad. I’m a life-long Republican. I’ve voted for John McCain every time I’ve had a chance to do so. I voted for him in the primary. He’s been one of my heroes for a decade, or more. I don’t know where John McCain has gone. This is a desperate, old man. A multitude of different proposals to “solve” the economic crisis; the so called “pause” in the campaign; accusations; innuendo and outright lies. This is the “tar baby” principal. Throw as much crap out there and hope something – anything sticks and anyone with an I Q large enough to register should be able to see it. I’m sorry-so sorry. But unless we as Republicans can recover some civility and integrity, if the Second Coming of Christ depends on it, I’ll not vote for John McCain.

formrep October 10, 11:45 AM”

We couldn’t have said it better.

John McCain used to stand for something. He was a man’s man, a maverick, he was well-liked in the press, he was above board. He said he didn’t believe in negative campaigns.

What in the hell happened to him? Was it all a myth or did John McCain melt down under pressure to the lowest common denominator, now having Sarah and Cindy deliver snarky gut punches to Obama?

In “How McCain Lost His Brand – From maverick to crank in an instant” John Heilemann explores how McCain was, up until recently, a media darling with a gold-plated brand. But not anymore, thanks to Steve Schmidt, McCain’s chief strategist who ran the dirty Bush war room under Karl Rove in 2004.

Schmidt has the McCain campaign split apart in pieces, trying everything to see if something will stick. This week they sent out Sarah the barracuda to try to get people to believe that our U.S. Senator Obama is a friend to terrorists.

They’ve also got Cindy on the road saying the most preposterous things like when she was in a Tennessee children’s hospital, she told reporters that Obama has “waged the dirtiest campaign in American history.” Maybe she’s still got that drug problem, I don’t know, but the remark is so funny, I forgot to laugh.

It is inconceivable the old McCain would have allowed a small-town political bitch and his own wife do negative campaigning for him. All I can think of is that McCain was implanted with a pod in his sleep, in which a neutered version of himself has now developed. But then again, maybe it happened while he was fully awake, while drinking all of Schmidt’s Rovian kool-aid.

Two days after McCain referred to Obama as “that one” during the 2nd debate, pundits and  talking heads are still trying to figure out what McCain meant.   Was it disrespectful? Racist? Dismissive?  All three?  Check out the Daily Intel, maybe you can figure out what it meant.

Attack!

While the Obama campaign has tried to stick to the issues, the McCain campaign has lied and attacked Obama.

McCain says that a campaign that only attacks has no vision. Duh.

Watch the video.

According to a Salon article written in 2000, McCain has Southern roots and his family once owned slaves.

He claims to not know or remember. So what else is new?

If he didn’t know, you have to marvel at his lack of family history curiosity especially for a public figure.

If he didn’t remember, that’s another story entirely.

The non-partisan Disabled American Veterans (DAV) gives McCain a 20% rating of his performance on veterans’ issues in the Senate.

Barack Obama earns a DAV score of 90%.

Check out the DAV website for yourself.

Read the Blog from Arizona to find out more about how McCain and Obama compare on supporting quality of life issues for the brave men and women who have fought for our country.

You would think since McCain is a military man he would be honorable and do the right thing for his fellow military compadres but that is not the case.

McCain will send you to war and make you return for multiple tours of duty but veterans better not come back and whine about post traumatic stress disorder, injuries, homelessness, lack of jobs, the need for higher education, foreclosures, and medical benefits. Remember McCain’s top advisor said Americans were a bunch of whiners and that includes you veterans.

John McCain is simply not a man of honor or honesty which is apparent to the masses as the McCain Palin campaign continues to crumble.

Support our troops — bring them home and give them ongoing support for a job well done.

Vote Obama Biden Election 2008

Wow! I just read an article that says Obama is leading or leaning in the states that Bush won during the last election.

Of course, he is ahead by only a few points but still it’s hopeful for me.

According to the article, As a result of the new survey, CNN now considers New Hampshire and Wisconsin to be Obama-leaning states, after previously being considered toss-ups. North Carolina is now considered a toss-up, after previously being categorized as a McCain-leaning state.

That gives me hope.

John McCain wants you to forget about his role in our country’s last major financial crisis and costly bailout: the savings and loan crisis of the late ’80s and early ’90s. Think big time FRAUD!

But voters deserve to know that the failed philosophy and culture of corruption that created the savings and loan crisis then are alive in the current crisis — and in John McCain’s plans for our economic future.

We just released a short documentary about John McCain’s role in that financial crisis — watch it now and share it with your friends:

Voters should know the facts about John McCain’s poor judgment — judgment that has twice placed him on the wrong side of history.

Please forward this email to everyone you know.

Keating and McCain were personal friends. Keating ripped off banks. Keating was an expert in investment fraud. McCain was part of the Keating 5 who received financial contributions from Keating and met secretly. Lies and secrets are the center of Keating economics.

Let’s expose the McSame/Palin ticket for what they are — liars and bigger liars.

Check out this website and start playing the game. Share the fun game with your friends…especially those stubborn folks who still want to vote Repug or cannot make up their minds.

Rack up those lies and let the world know the score. You can play the game anywhere.

Liar, Liar Pants on Fire

The only reason McCain graduated is because his father and grandfather went to the same school and no student with alumni roots ever fails.

We already know George W. Bush’s lousy school grades – think C+ on a good day.

“Both developed an uncanny social intelligence that allowed them to skate by with a minimum of mental exertion. Both struggled with booze and loutish behavior. At each step, with the aid of their fathers’ powerful friends, both failed upward.”

Just what this country doesn’t need — another abyssmal student with a disturbing record of recklessness and dishonesty. That is not the qualification of a maverick much less a leader or President of the United States.

Read the article in Rolling Stone magazine. It’s long but well worth it.

Compared to where I come from (Los Angeles), Juneau is a mighty small town. There are no roads to Juneau. It’s a completely isolated city with access only from ferry boats or by plane. Juneau-ites are greatly cut off from the rest of North America and many residents like it that way. It’s a beautiful city but almost entirely dependent upon cruise ship tourism. What I find simply wonderful is they had an Obama-rama on Sunday October 5 with hundreds of people showing up in support of the Obama-Biden ticket. Yoo go Juneau!

Brave New Films hit a nerve when Rush, Drudge, and O’Reilly unleashed on them the same day.

Then, MSNBC censored the McCain health records ad, a Brave New PAC initiative, due to Bill O’Reilly/Fox’s pressure.

And why?

Because of the work we have all done together to stress the importance of John McCain releasing his health care records. Led by over 2,500 doctors from around the country, Republicans, Independents and Democrats, asking important questions about the records, about his health, and stating loud and clear the records should be released.

Can you help get the film seen?

Scary? McCain can be a walking healthcare time bomb and Sarah Palin is waiting in the wind even though she has no clue about foreign policy except that she can see Russia.

Yes, it can happen.

Read the article in its entirety and the investigative report that goes along with it.

Those Republicans sure know how to make a mess of things. Think foreclosure Phil.

And for those people who think that John McCain can still reform Washington — think again — he’s one of the biggest reasons this financial mess is happening. He voted with Bush 90 percent of the time. The other 10 percent he failed to show up. He probably was still in his Ambien stupor.

Foreclosure Phil, McCain’s financial advisor said to all the folks who are losing or lost their houses — is that you’re all a bunch of whiners.

His advisor is probably secretly jumping up and down with glee because your losing your votes too.

When McCain was campaigning in the primaries he said he has experience unless his opponents who was a mayor of a major New York metropolis during 9/11 and the governor of Mass. He called the mayor and the governor inexperienced. Watch the video!

Yet…his running mate was a mayor of a small town and the governor of Alaska, a small state with low population and special needs that don’t relate to the rest of the continental United States.

Why does he want this hockey mom who hasn’t released her IRS records yet and is under investigation to be the Vice President? She has no national security experience just like he said last year. Did he forget?

Is it just me or do you feel that McCain thinks we the voters are stupid?

He’s not even President yet (and hopefully he never will be) and he’s already jerking around the American people, you know, us, you and me, the voters. Quite frankly, he’s been jerking around us average joes and janes for many years. It’s the Wall Street CEOs and rich hedge fund guys and beer distribution heiresses that he’s been saving all these years.

Last night her jerked off on David Letterman and said he had to rush to Washington when in fact he went to another CBS host and was interviewed by Katie Couric.

McCain doesn’t want to debate Obama.  It’s supposed to be tomorrow and it’s still up in the air.  Obama — with or without John McCain — should be able to go on TV and make his case.  I bet it would take McCain five seconds to change his mind.

McCain is losing in the polls.

McCain has no answers so he needs some time to create them.

McCain is trying to manipulate the VP debate because Palin isn’t ready and probably never will be. She’s a talking head without any substance or facts behind her spewing.

McCain said the Presidential debates can be postponed until October 2 but that is when the VP debate is scheduled.

McCain, the broken down Ford Maverick, is what got us in this mess and now he thinks he can get us out. In his Ambien dreams!

McCain jerks around the American people…again.

Hey, you want to hear something funny? Do you want to know what the most searched phrase is for people finding this blog?

“Palin sucks”

“McCain sucks”

I kid you not!

Jimmy Orr’s political post (and the cartoon) on the Vote Blog of the Christian Science Monitor is hilarious. It’s a great re-cap of what David Letterman said about McCain last night.

McCain suddenly bailed from David Letterman’s show – giving Letterman only about 2 hours notice before taping. He personally called Letterman and said the economy was “about to crater” and he was suspending his campaign and had to leave immediately for Washington.

In fact, McCain didn’t rush back to Washington – he instead was down the street taping an interview with Katie Couric.

That’s integrity, man!

Dave was miffed, to say the least. On his show, he kept saying: “You don’t suspend your campaign.” “This doesn’t smell right.” “I think someone’s putting something in his Metamucil.”

“He can’t run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara Palin. Where is she?”

What are you going to do if you’re elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We’ve got a guy like that now!”

Letterman was like a bull dog on McCain’s ass. Crunch!

Doug Thompson ran the Political Programs Division of the National Association of Realtors. NAR was the largest trade association in the country.

One of his jobs was to serve as the association’s “go to” guy when they needed to sway the opinions of Congress.

Thompson wrote: “McCain claims he’s going to put an end to special interest control of Washington.

“He’s lying.

“The special interests control him. They always have and they always will. I know. I once owned a piece of John McCain. Didn’t cost that much. Corrupt members of Congress usually come cheap.”

Just remember this when considering who is most qualified to lead this country. Obama who took no Washington lobbyist money? Or *McCain the Maverick who is bought and paid for by special interest groups.

*A maverick is an unbranded range animal, which means it’s free for the taking and is the property of the person who brands it. Uh huh. But in McCain’s case, he lets himself be branded by the highest bidder.

George Bush went on TV to sweet-talk Americans into letting him steal $700 billion of our tax dollars. That’s $2,333 for every man, woman, and child – to bail out his greedy rich friends on Wall Street.

On Thursday, September 25 — Bush will meet with Democratic and Republican leaders to finalize a deal that gives Bush nearly everything he wants, but nothing America needs:

The people who caused the problem or profited most should pay for it. Re-regulate to prevent this from happening again. Include Main Street in the bailout and invest in a new productive economy.

Worst of all, it’s another massive fraud. Bush lied to our faces when he promised to buy toxic securities “at their current low prices… and we expect that much, if not all, of the tax dollars we invest will be paid back.”

Bull*&%$

This is the same administration that promised the invasion of Iraq would pay for itself through lower oil prices. The cost of that disaster is now $3 trillion and climbing, not to mention millions dead, maimed, or exiled.  (Many veterans returning from War are now homeless too.)
So make no mistake: every penny we give Bush now will be used to greatly overpay for securities that will lose most of their value. We will pay the price for decades, which is why dozens of economists oppose Bush’s fraud.
On Thursday – September 25, there will be emergency afternoon street protests across the country.

Please find the nearest protest and bring a sign and a friend.

And call your Senators and Representative right now to say “No $700 Billion Bailout for Wall Street”. Dial the Capitol switchboard at 800-473-6711 or 202-224-3121

And if you have not emailed your Senators and Representative, please do it now.

We’re in this MESS because of the good old boys like Bush, Cheney, Rove, McCain and the likes of them. You know when McCain’s aide is making $35,000/month as a consultant to Freddie Mac.  Families below the poverty line don’t even make $35,000 a year!

Don’t bail out the fat cats who are the hedge fund monsters and will still walk away with their multi million dollar exit packages.

DON’T BELIEVE BUSH’S BIG FAT LIES. HE LIED ABOUT WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION AND HE’S LYING AGAIN. Ditto for McSame!

Get off the damn Internet, and get you body out there and do something about it.

How many of you will write in urging PBS’ Jim Lehrer to ask McCain about his health records during Friday’s debate?

Watch the 30 second ad

This debate will deal with foreign policy, and McCain’s health issues constitute a national security issue, especially when you consider how his secrecy about medical records echoes the Bush administration’s legacy of lies. Will McCain’s health limit his capacity to make tough decisions regarding diplomacy and military action? We don’t know, because McCain is keeping his medical records a tightly held secret, made available to just a handful of journalists for three hours under close supervision.

Send a quick e-mail to Jim Lehrer, moderator of Friday’s debate, with the subject line: “Ask McCain to Disclose His Health Records in Full.” Then, donate to Brave New PAC today so we can get this ad on the air. We have the right to have an open discussion about this grave issue, and now we have the chance to bring transparency and accountability to politics.

Yours,
Robert Greenwald
and everyone at Brave New PAC

P.S. For more info and inspiration and what to write in the body of your e-mail to Jim Lehrer, read the testimonies from some of our doctors below.

It is standard practice for the people of the United States to be kept informed of the President’s state of health. It is even more important that we citizens be made fully aware of the health and health risks of our potential Presidents. John McCain has had more than one melanoma, a particularly lethal cancer. That statement that his cancer is “in remission” does not equate with cure. Melanoma can be undetectable and “in remission” for a dozen years and then recur. – Nancy V. Bruckner, MD

It is inconceivable that America would vote on who will be their next president without complete disclosure of every detail of the health care that each candidate has undergone. With one of the candidates having had a very serious form of cancer and being 72 years of age, the American people need to be reassured that their decisions at the poll are being made with all available information. – David R. Meldrum, MD

Transparency as far as medical history is concerned is essential for those running for public office. The public deserves that. It is a prerequisite for being in office. – Robert Buxbaum, MD

I have to release my medical records to get insurance, to get hospital privileges and for things of far lesser import than seeking the presidency of this country. Unless Mr. McCain has something to hide, he should release his records. If he refuses to release the records, then the assumption must be that he is, indeed, hiding something. – Gerald F. Cambria, MD

I am a registered Republican. As a dermatologist with over 20 years of experience, I would have to believe that there is a very significant probability that McCain will die of his melanoma, probably within the next few years. As I understand it, his first episode was in 1992, and he has had a total of 4 melanomas, one of which was deep enough to require a lymph node dissection. My experience has been that patients whose immune system clearly does not fight off melanoma (I’ve never had any patient who had more than 2 once we began observing them closely with consistent skin checks, as I know McCain gets), and eventually die of their melanoma, especially when it has been on the head or neck. Everything may seem to be fine for 5-10 years, then all of a sudden all the micrometastases reach critical mass, and there are lesions in the brain, bone and lungs – and the person is dead within three months. – Laura E. Skellchock, MD

Here’s a riddle: How can you tell when McCain lies?  Answer: His lips move…

In what is brilliant reporting, the New Times just published a piece that says McCain’s aide was receiving $15,000/month from Freddie Mac for consulting. Mr. Davis received that from 2005 until Freddie’s recent collapse. When asked about it — McCain denied those facts.

Yet — McCain ACCUSED Obama of having ties to Fannie Mae.

The accusations directed at Obama are not true.

Is McCain (A-brain damaged? Or is he simply (B-a damn liar?  BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB

Here’s the kicker:
“Between 2000 and the end of 2005, Mr. Davis had received nearly $2 million as president of the coalition, the Homeownership Alliance, which the companies created to help them oppose new regulations and protect their status as federally chartered companies with implicit government backing. That status let them borrow cheaply, helping to fuel rapid growth but also their increased purchases of the risky mortgage securities that were their downfall.”

“The characteristics that led to McCain gaining hundreds of demerits at the Naval Academy have never fully left him; by his own admission, he has an “irremediable” personality trait of being “a wiseass,” and as he added: “Occasionally my sense of humor is ill-considered or ill-timed, and that can be a problem.”

“Others have concurred: A 2007 Associated Press story was titled “McCain’s WMD Is a Mouth That Won’t Quit”.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/2007-11-03-998821539_x.htm

“Over the years this trait has led to a series of controversial remarks:

“In his 1986 senate campaign, he referred to the Leisure World retirement community as “Seizure World”, where “97 percent of the people vote and the other 3 percent are in intensive care,” a joke made worse when he did not directly apologize for any offense caused by it.

“In 1998, McCain was chastised for reportedly making an off-color joke at a Republican fundraiser about President Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, saying “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.” McCain later apologized to President Clinton and Clinton accepted his apology.

“McCain openly used the term “gook”, in reference to his Vietnamese torturers during the Vietnam War, even since his return as a POW. During the 2000 presidential campaign, he repeatedly refused to apologize for his continued use of the term, stating that he reserved its reference only to his captors. Late in the primary season, with growing criticism from the Asian American community in the politically important state of California, McCain reversed his position, and vowed to no longer use the term in public.

“During a campaign appearance in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina on April 18, 2007, McCain was asked a question about possible military action against Iran. He responded by singing “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran” to the melody of the Beach Boys’ song “Barbara Ann”, reminiscent of a 1980 parody by Vince Vance & The Valiants. When later confronted about the matter, McCain stated, “My response is lighten up, and get a life.” Asked whether the joke he made was insensitive, McCain retorted, “Insensitive to what? The Iranians?”

“During a taping of The Daily Show on April 24, 2007, host Jon Stewart asked McCain, “What do you want to start with, the bomb Iran song or the walk through the market in Baghdad?” McCain responded by saying,”I think maybe shopping in Baghdad … I had something picked out for you, too a little IED to put on your desk.”

“On April 25, 2007, representative John Murtha demanded an apology from McCain on the floor of the House, where Murtha said that to make jokes about bringing IEDs back for comedians was unconscionable when so many soldiers are dying from IEDs in Iraq. McCain responded by telling Murtha and other critics to “Lighten up and get a life.”

“On May 18, 2007 McCain said  ” F— you!” to  fellow Senator John Cornyn during a meeting on immigration legislation.

McCain is so unPresidential.

McCain says he is known around Washington as a maverick. Yeah, a Ford Maverick.

McCain may have once been perceived as a maverick* but now he’s an over-the-hill politician who is past his prime. Mavericks claim to take an independent stand apart from their associates. Not really, he’s voted like Bush 90 percent of the time. That just sounds like poor copycat judgment to me.  He flipflops day to day in his campaign which will be dangerous when he’s in a real position of power.

Just this week — he said the economy was basically sound while every other analyst and pundit said this was the worst financial week in the U.S–ever since the Great Depression.  After hearing all those other opinions, he changed his tune.

Does that sound like a maverick to you?

I hate denying John McCain his maverick title so let’s just say he’s like a Ford Maverick. Is that so bad?

You know you’re a Ford Maverick if:

Your engine demands urgent updating

You have the 3.0 six, a four speed manual with column shifter and a bench seat

You have lots of chrome especially in your mouth

Four-on-the-floor manual, stiffened suspension, bigger wheels and recirculating ball steering (He’s got balls!)

Bull horns (Full of bull)

While owners loved its sporty styling, front seat room and the large trunk, they hated the engine. (The metaphor is that like the Ford Maverick, McCain’s engine and policy need urgent updating.)

The six-banger had plenty of low-end torque and that was all (What does Cindy have to say about his banger?).

It took 20.8 seconds in the 0-to-60 and reached (after a looong time) a top speed of 93 mph. Worse yet, its fuel consumption was marginally better than the V-8 – actually worse if you drove faster than 50 mph.   (John, speaking of fuel consumption, every time you go out for a latte, an entourage of six SUVs have to make the trip with you for a media circus.)

Besides the slow engine, the column mounted shifter felt like it was attached to nothing (the same can be said to the McCain Palin Election 08 campaign rhetoric).

So many times getting the desired gear was a matter of trial and error. (Choosing Palin as your running mate was simply an ERROR.)

And the steering… Well, it was lousy. (The same can be said for McCain’s steering in Washington these past 8 or 12 years-HONK. )

In the late 70s, 50% of new car buyers were women, and they didn’t like the Maverick’s macho appeal, the weight, and the limited rear visibility the Maverick offered. (We don’t know about your rear visibility and it gives us the creeps to think about it but we know you’re no visionary.)

Campaign slogan: John McCain–Proud to be a Ford Maverick and I approve this message.

Ford Maverick speak

*A lone dissenter, as an intellectual, an artist, or a politician, who takes an independent stand apart from his or her associates

Today McCain was ranting that the financial mess was Obama’s fault.

I heard that while I was driving and almost drove my car up on the curb.

McCain LIES! He sounds desperate. Wouldn’t it be cool that every time a candidate lied, they got a short electric shock? In case you’re in doubt, you would know who the real liars are.

Back to reality, in one breath, he says Obama has no experience and hasn’t been around Washington very long and in another breath, he says Obama is to blame for this week’s financial downturn mess.

Ha Ha Ha

Hasn’t McCain been in politics for 20+ years? Doesn’t he take any responsibility?

He also said that Obama has taken money from Freddie and Fanny Mae lobbyists. Perhaps so. But according to NPR, McCain has taken TEN TIMES MORE than Obama. Was that an oversight in facts? Sins of omissions?

McCain’s connections to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac go deeper than Obama. McCain must thing you’re all a bunch of idiots to not dig a little deeper to check out these lies. Start digging…

Let us know what you find out.

People, get real.

A great part of the reason of foreclosures and our economic downturn is caused by Phil Gramm.

Phil Gramm is John McCain’s economic advisor.

Phil Gramm is the guy who called you – “whiners” –you know, the people who lost their homes to foreclosures caused by the sub prime crisis.

The fact that McCain has 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 11 houses means that he cannot related to the one struggling family who loses their house.

Watch this video about McCain’s greed and the average homeowner with two jobs trying to put food on the table and not go into foreclosure.

On one of the worst days on Wall Street, McCain said the economy was economically sound. The media criticized him for the statement so he reworded it for his next speech. A guy with 6 or 11 houses would not be as adversely affected by Wall Street like the rest of us.

His economics that he helped shape for the past eight years has everything to do with the state of the damn economy and financial world and he talks about reform.

Reform, schmeform. What is he going to do? Push Phil Gramm off a cliff?

Whether McCain likes it or not…foreclosure Phil Gramm is in McCain’s closet.

John McCain will spend millions of dollars to convince you that he’s not really a Republican.

He wants you to believe that although he is in the party that has unfailingly opposed financial deregulation, that he is somehow different. You cannot find one instance of McCain supporting regulation of the finance industry – not a single instance – until, of course, the Day the Dam Broke, September 15.

One cannot find a single John McCain advisor who has supported regulation, until today, the day that the failing banks changed our world. You have undoubtedly heard the New John McCain, who, 48 hours ago, suddenly became a big fan of finance market regulation. You’ll not hear anything about his association with Phil Gramm, the architect of unregulated mortgage markets, Phil Gramm, whom McCain said knows more about economics “than anyone.”

It’s too bad we have to submit to 2 years of selling us a president like a brand of shampoo. All we have to do is look at what they’ve done. What have the Republicans done? Have they ever stood up to “the markets” and said, “You’re playing with people’s money, their livelihoods, their retirements.”? When was the last time John McCain stood up to Phil Gramm and his card tricks and said we have to bring some order to these transactions, and they have to be above board? Never. Not once, oh, of course, until September 15th.

But America has sense enough not to listen to these sudden promises a few weeks before the election.

Doesn’t it?

John McCain has backed off his “pig” charge, but he did get the necessary mileage out of the fracas. The public was temporarily diverted from contrasting McCain and Obama’s prescription for the economy.

Like Bush, McCain believes that the economic “fundamentals are sound.” Like Bush, McCain believes that the best medicine for the economy is lower taxes, an unregulated Wall Street, and a Security Exchange Commission that doesn’t meddle. Follow the links below describing McCain’s economic platform, and you’ll find no mention of reform of the finance industry. Only yesterday, September 15, the day of the Big Meltdown, did McCain jump on the bandwagon to overhaul the financial sector. Today, McCain suggests a commission be created to “study the problem.” One can understand why McCain prefers no immediate action. He needs time to bury his relationship to Phil Gramm, his top economic advisor and personal friend of decades. It seems that Mr. Gramm, a man whom McCain says, “knows more about the economy than anyone,” has always advocated a hands-off approach to regulation.

Just last year, Mr. McCain spoke in disapproval of government meddling in the banking business. Mr. Obama, however, has long advocated that the Feds step in and bring some control to the free-for-all that has led the failures of some of the most storied names in banking and lending. Mr. Obama has long advocated economic reform of the finance industry, a stronger SEC and stricter oversight of Wall Street trading.

When Americans finally get around to comparing Democratic and Republican plans for reforming the economy, it will not be a happy day for John McCain. I’m sure he wishes we could all get back to Palin pig debate.

The above was sent to us via Darryl K.

Here’s an enlightening video about McCain and his secret medical records. He’s had malignant melanoma and it has a 60 percent chance of reoccuring.

If his melanoma were to return, it would require a toxic debilitating round of treatment leaving him incapacitated to perform his duties as President.

If something happens to McCain, his VP candidate, hockey mom and can see Russia from her house, Sarah Palin will be in charge.

How scary is that?

McCain takes medications for insomnia, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, degenerative arthritis, vertigo, and allergies. He smoked two packs of cigarettes for 25 years. With age, comes more diseases.

The American people deserve to know what McCain’s health status is.

Here’s an interesting website that lists dozens of Republican politicans and other Republicans who have been arrested for sex with minors, sex with same sex which isn’t a bad thing except when you’re raging against it yourself, sex with a mule, possession of illegal drugs, having kiddie porn on your computer, and the list of sickening offenses goes on.

What is it about mostly Christian Republican values that bring out the bizarre and frequently illegal sexual habits?

Let’s not forget that John McCain was still married to his first wife Carol when he became an adulturer with Cindy Hensley who was also still married to someone else.  Now that’s family values…

We are proud to re-post this Letter to the Editor at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram by Kelvin LaFond, Fort Worth

How racism works

What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review? What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class? What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said “I do” to? What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization? What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard? What if Obama were a member of the “Keating 5”? What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

This article deserves to be spread all over the planet. It’s from a fellow POW who served during the same time as John McCain.

Here’s some important words:

I can verify that John has an infamous reputation for being a hot head. He has a quick and explosive temper that many have experienced first hand. Folks, quite honestly that is not the finger I want next to that red button.

It is also disappointing to see him take on and support Bush’s war in Iraq, even stating we might be there for another 100 years. For me, John represents the entrenched and bankrupt policies of Washington-as-usual. The past 7 years have proven to be disastrous for our country. And I believe John’s views on war, foreign policy, economics, environment, health care, education, national infrastructure and other important areas are much the same as those of the Bush administration.”

P.S. John McCain graduated 5th from the bottom of an 800-man graduating class. That’s dumber than Bush!

It was a fun week revealing what was in Palin’s closet but now it’s time to move on to the real issues. The sad thing about all this is that the Republicans didn’t do their vetting homework and found out what was in her closet the same time the blogosphere did.

What if the Republican administration did as little vetting when trying to find weapons of mass destruction or looking for military intelligence? Imagine that.

In McCain’s speech last night, he talked about keeping jobs in the United States. Employees want that but it’s the big business (the friends of McCain) who are sending jobs oversees to pay less living wages, no healthcare, and pocket more profits.

McCain said that for the people who were unemployed, they would continue to be paid at a decent wage, and would be retrained for a better job. That sounds like a utopic plan but in his next breath — he talked about cutting taxes and not spending money. Unemployment benefits and training all cost lots of money because the U.S. has lots of unemployment from jobs being sent overseas.

McCain’s speech just took me through a revolving door.

The United States has been been losing jobs and in August,  84,000 jobs were shed. Ouch. August was the eighth straight month of job losses. The unemployment rate jumped to 6.1 percent in August, the highest in nearly five years. Both figures were worse than economists had forecast.

The most fascinating aspect of McCain’s Republican acceptance speech was that he and Palin are going to change Washington.

Not that it’s a bad idea to change Washington because that is what Obama has been saying throughout his whole campaign but McCain has been in Washington and 95% of the time votes like Bush. So why all of sudden did McCain wake up from his Ambien-induced sleeping pill fog and decide to change Washington?

Why? Because he realizes that is what the American people want to hear and he will say anything and everything to be likeable.

Here’s a ridde: How can you tell when a Republican lies?

Answer: His or her lips move

Disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff was sentenced to four years in prison over his public corruption case, the one that shook Washington politics to its core and helped the Republican’s lose control of Congress in 2004.

Meanwhile John McCain’s inner circle of lobbyists, at least 150 of them, help him prepare to get elected.

“Since pleading guilty in 2006, Abramoff has provided the Justice Department evidence that helped send
Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, and former Deputy Interior Secretary J. Steven Griles to prison.” (AP)

A new children’s book about John and Sarah

On NPR I heard that John McCain desperately wanted to pick Joe Lieberman but at the last minute Palin Power popped up. Even though Lieberman would’ve brought in some of the independent vote, the Repugs didn’t want him because he’s pro-choice and Jewish. He’s also old too.

McCain needs someone smarter than he is on the economy and to keep the different terrorist groups straight. Joe Lieberman did that for McCain, stood right next to him and whispered in his ear when he got it wrong. That’s what friends do for each other.

It’s unlikely that Palin knows anything about the U.S. economy and probably doesn’t know a Shiite from shinola.

Here’s what everyone’s favorite radical no-nonsense filmmaker — Michael Moore had to say about Joe Lieberman:

(Last night, during his primetime speech from the podium at the Republican National Convention, Senator Joe Lieberman made the following statement: “… if John McCain is just another partisan Republican, then I’m Michael Moore’s favorite Democrat.  And I’m not. And I think you know that I’m not.”)

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Dear Joe:
John McCain IS just another partisan Republican — so that must mean you ARE my favorite Democrat!

But how can you be my favorite Democrat when you are no longer a Democrat? This is very confusing. I was in the middle of taking out the garbage and, all of a sudden, there you were, trash-talking me in front of thousands of cheering (mostly) white people on TV.
What is it with you and your Republican friends always bringing me up? Can’t you stop thinking about me? It’s starting to sound like a fetish! Stop it! Four years ago at the last Republican Convention, John McCain, in his convention speech, also trashed me, calling me a “disingenuous filmmaker” because I called all of you out in Fahrenheit 9/11.

The crowd at Madison Square Garden went berserk. McCain didn’t know I was sitting above him in the press box, and the crowd wouldn’t stop screaming at me, so I flashed them the “Big L” loser sign and, well, nine of New York’s finest had to help me get out of there alive.
With all the problems facing the world, why is valuable time being wasted reviewing a movie and attacking a filmmaker? And now you, Joe, tonight. Do you think you’re energizing the base by attacking me? Better take a look at the scoreboard. While your side has spent years trying to make me the boogeyman, let’s see how it’s worked:

** 2006 Congressional elections: Republicans lose 30 seats in the House and 6 seats in the Senate;
** States That Have Lost a Republican Governor (and elected a Democrat) since 2002: Kansas, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Tennessee — EACH ONE OF THEM A RED STATE!;
** Latest Gallup Poll: Obama hit 50% yesterday for the first time for either candidate, 8 points ahead of McCain!

Do you see the trend?
Putting me in your convention speeches, attacking me nonstop on talk radio and Fox News — and thinking that this helps you — shows just how out of touch you all are.
Two-thirds of the country agree with my position on the war, two-thirds of the country agree with my position on a single-payer universal health care system, two-thirds believe in some form of gun control — name the documentary, pick the issue, and the American public agrees with Michael Moore.

So get over me, will ya? You’re only hurting yourself. And I’ve got to finish taking out the garbage.
Now click your heels together and say, “There’s no place like home on the Republican minority side of the aisle.”

Yours,
Michael Moore

I stumbled on this video earlier. It’s pretty powerful.

A vote for McCain Palin means more of the same lies, death, and everything else you find despicable and downtrodden about this administration.
